'Tis the Season

  • Dec 08, 2014

When life gives you lemons, make cupcakes.

And lemon loaf cake.

And lemon crumb cake.

The holidays are upon us, and in this hustle-and-bustle season, the frenzy of shopping can put a damper on gift giving. Luckily, edible gifts make the sweetest presents, and you don’t even have to brave the crowds at the mall to prepare them. With festive seasonal designs, Welcome Home Brands bakeware makes it easy to give holiday gifts with a wow factor that goes well beyond taste. The only question is what to make.

The luscious lemon is a good place to start. The ancient Egyptians hedged their bets on the value of the lemon, using it as an antidote against poisons. Today, we know for certain that a lemon packs a big nutritional punch. Warm lemon water first thing in the morning helps flush out toxins, and lemons are said to aid digestion, rejuvenate skin, and reduce inflammation. So why not dazzle your friends with gifts of lemon cupcakes, muffins and loaf cakes of every variety? Top with a surefire choice like meringue or lemon buttercream frosting and move over—lemon lime. Lemon and sour cream make for a great pairing, as lemon-sour cream cake is a decadent delight. Coconut works well with lemon too, as do berries. Incorporate everything from the lemon pulp to the rind if you want.

If you don’t like an overpowering lemon flavor, go light on the lemons and make bite-sized lemon tea cakes. However you choose to use them, let lemons add some zing to this magical season.

There is no pre-greasing or flouring necessary! After removing your baked item from the oven, you can score the perimeter of it with a knife to separate it from the sides of the pan. Then, once it is ready to be served, simply peel away the sides for a clean removal!

Do you need to grease or flour these pans? also is the length of baking time the same as glass or aluminum pans?
