If you love to bake but have never considered entering a baking contest, it’s time to reconsider. Countless baking contests take place across our great nation every year, and they offer amateur bakers the chance to feel like pros. You’ll stoke your creativity and competitive spirit—not to mention inspire your family and friends. Here are a few upcoming competitions worth looking into.
Golden Girl Granola’s Blogger Recipe Challenge: Fifty lucky bloggers will be selected to participate in this contest, which requires you to use one of Golden Girl’s seven granola flavors to create an award-worthy recipe. The contest is geared toward home cooks, not professional chefs. So whip those granola bar bites, granola blondies, or granola parfaits. Deadline is July 31, 2015.
The Taste of Tradition Recipe Contest: If granola doesn’t inspire you, maybe olive oil will. It’s an excellent addition to baked goods and an ideal substitute for vegetable oil. This contest calls for entrants to submit a favorite original family recipe using Bertolli Olive Oil or Bertolli Vinegar as an ingredient. Chocolate olive oil cupcakes, anyone? Deadline is July 31, 2015.
Concord Foods Summer Recipe Contest: Perhaps the tang of lemon or lime whets your whistle. If so, create the perfect recipe containing Concord Foods Reconstituted Lemon Juice or Reconstituted Lime Juice. (Hint: Light, lemony cupcakes are perfect for summer.) Deadline August 31, 2015.
Just a Pinch World Food Championships 2015 Contest: If you’re a foodie whose recipes are all about freshness, this contest is for you. Winners of this contest will receive an invitation to prepare and compete with their winning recipe in November at the 2015 World Food Championship in Kissimmee, Florida. Deadline September 4, 2015.
